Police dealing with traffic incident near Tadley

The B3051 between Tadley and Ashford Hill is currently closed.

Basingstoke Rural Police issued a traffic alert on Twitter just before 5pm this evening (Friday, January 8) THE stretch of road near Tadley temporarily closed by police this afternoon has reopened after a car flipped while overtaking a tractor. Drivers were urged to avoid the area as police attended a traffic incident on the B3051 between Tadley and Ashford Hill. There were road closures on the B3051 junction of both Brimpton Road and Ashford Hill Road. At 4:54pm, Basingstoke Rural Police tweeted: Traffic Alert we are dealing with a RTI on the B3051 between #Tadley and #AshfordHill. Please avoid the area if you can. Road closures are in place on the B3051 junction of both Brimpton Road and Ashford Hill Road.
THE driver of a car which flipped while overtaking a tractor near Tadley this afternoon has escaped with only minor injuries. Road closures were in place this evening on the B3051 road in both directions between Ashford Hill Road and Hockford Lane after the driver of a Vauxhall Corsa lost control. Police were called to the scene and advised motorists to avoid the area. But by 5.38pm the road had reopened, with the vehicle safely placed on a recovery vehicle and the driver assessed as not requiring hospital treatment. A spokesperson for Hampshire Constabulary said: We were called at 4.21pm this afternoon (Friday 8 January) to a report of a single-vehicle collision on the B3051 road between Tadley and Kingsclere, close to Ashford Hill Road.
