A 49-home subdivision is being proposed along Thomas Street directly across from the Sierra High parking lot.
And unlike the existing subdivisions along Thomas Street, the new neighborhood will have 10 homes facing Thomas Street.
The project in working with the Manteca Unified School District is being conditioned to include placement of pedestrian safety improvements for a safe school crossing of Thomas Street that may include flashing beacons and a crosswalk.
