Norlands Living History Center In Livermore Maine Is Back Open
According to the Bangor Daily News, one of Maine s most popular school field trip destinations, Norlands Living History Center, is officially back open. If you attended school in Central Maine sometime around your fourth-grade year, you have more than likely visited this place even if you don t remember it.
Norlands Living History Center is located in Livermore, Maine, and is known for bringing Livermore’s celebrated Washburn family from the 19 Century.
Students and visitors have a chance to tour the Washburn Mansion and family cottage and learn some of the everyday life skills used in the 19th century. Visitors get to attend school in a one-room schoolhouse; they also learn to cook, clean, and take care of daily chores. When you visit, you really feel like you re there living a 19th-century life.
