WARRINGTON Male Voice Choir (WMVC) have paid tribute to their former secretary who was part of the historic group for decades. The late Ian Scholes has been described as a true Mr Fix-it, an enthusiastic chorister, a gentleman and a pillar of the choir . He joined WMVC in 1983 and was secretary for 12 years and in a fitting farewell the choir have recorded his favourite Welsh hymn, Gwahoddiad. Ian died in January and his funeral took place on Tuesday. He was 85. Chairman Bob Williams said: During his time in the choir, even when he wasn’t secretary, Ian was always on hand to sort everything out.
