Spire Cheshire Hospital SPIRE Cheshire Hospital has donated more than £200 of food to Warrington Foodbank to help those in need this Christmas. Colleagues at the Stretton-based hospital, which has been helping the NHS in tackling the pandemic, raised £105 with a further £105 donated by the company. Spire’s food supply partner Bidfood then supplemented this with a generous donation of food. Spire Cheshire’s donation is part of a larger initiative, in which each of Spire’s 39 hospitals across the UK has been supporting their local Trussell Trust foodbanks. Andrew Johnson, hospital director said: 2020 has been a challenging year for so many people and I’m pleased that we’ve been able to play our part in meeting the increased demand for the support provided by Warrington Foodbank.
SUPERCAR businesses have again been collecting toy donations to make Christmas extra special for families in need across Warrington. Kyle Hewitt, director of Heaunique Group, and Martin Rylands from Vanrooyen came together to help make Christmas extra special for users of Warrington Foodbank. Myself and Martin collect toys each year for the Warrington Foodbank and deliver them to the foodbank in the cars, Kyle explained. This year we have used a Ferrari 488 Pista and a Ferrari 360 Challenge Stradale. Donations have come from private people and also Morrisons Distribution Centre, Tesco and PPM Milton Keynes, among others. This is not the first time that the supercar businesses have joined forces to bring a smile to Warrington families.
Sellafield Ltd employees spread Christmas cheer
This year, Sellafield Ltd s annual Christmas challenge has had to adapt due to the pandemic.
From: Providing gifts for children at Christmas
Our annual Christmas challenge usually takes place on the Sellafield site and offices in Cumbria and around its Warrington offices, which are based in Birchwood.
This year, instead of collecting a mountain of presents, we’ve had to improvise due to the pandemic, but our employees still wanted to provide support to our local community, which is needed now more than ever.
Employees have been supporting CFM’s ‘Cask4Kids Mission Christmas’ appeal, to make sure every local child wakes up with a gift on Christmas day.
