Stony Stratford High Street (Picture from @MKCouncil on Twitter) A Just Giving page has set up to support those who have been badly impacted by flooding in North Buckinghamshire. On Wednesday, December 23, torrential rain hit parts of Buckingham, Milton Keynes, Marsh Gibbon, Lavendon, Tingewick and Leckhampstead. The downpour saw some residents get stuck in their vehicles, whilst some were trapped indoors with large amounts of water entering several properties, causing severe damage. So, to support those who have been affected, Dean Jones, who is the partnerships and outreach manager at the University of Buckingham, created the Just Giving page with his aim being to raise £5,000 for those in need.
Parts of north Buckinghamshire have been affected by severe flooding following heavy rain in the county. Between the afternoon of December 23 to the morning of December 24, firefighters were called out to several parts of north Bucks, where sandbags were used to stop flooding, whilst people were rescued from trapped cars due to the ongoing rain. Would recommend you don’t drive through flood waters. pic.twitter.com/sc3BfjedMD Warren Whyte (@CllrWarrenWhyte) December 24, 2020 Some of the incidents included: • 1.51pm – Car stuck in flood water Twyford to Marsh Gibbon Road, Marsh Gibbon.
