Thats right, Maryland State Police tell us just after 2 oclock this morning, a tractortrailer somehow overturned and so its causing quite a disruption along route 50 here this morning. Since that time, there has been a heavy presence of Police Activity straight ahead. Accident is on the westbound side of 50. This is just after Saint Margarets road. All lanes on the westbound side are closed and so for those of you traveling from the Eastern Shore headed back to d. C. Youll be forced to get off at exit 29 which is Cape Saint Claire road. Wildfires burned out of control in Southern California, one in the heart of los angeles. There is no relief in sight. Conditions today are expected to be extreme. One fire official said gusting 80mileperhour winds could create unprecedent fire danger. About 200,000 people have been ordered to evacuate. Hundreds of homes have been destroyed and for the First Time Ever a purple forecast has been issued for a wind index. That is the most severe warning. This fire has doubled in size from yesterday forces more people out of their homes. 30,000 people from four different cities are under evacuation orders. 150 homes have burned. 12,000 other buildings are in the path. In Los Angeles County the skirball fire is at 5 containment. This fire started yesterday around this time and is burning near the mansions in bel air. A neighborhood that has not seen a major fire since 1961 one 500 homes burned. This time, four homes have been destroyed. 700 homes and apartment buildings and a school in West Los Angeles have been evacuated. Officials cannot say how many people have been affected. The creek fire in Los Angeles County has burned about 20 square miles. 150,000 people have been ordered to leave their homes. Four buildings have been destroyed and 2500 homes and businesses are threatened because the wind has been pushing the flames and carrying the embers into the hills where they set new fires.
