A fundraising effort led by a group called Guineans Succeeding in America was underway Sunday to help Alfa’s family with the costs of his funeral and a trip to Africa.
The body of one of two boys who went missing last week was recovered Thursday after washing ashore from the East River in New York City. The other boy remains missing.
Warren Garrett, 13, of the Bronx and his Democracy Prep Harlem Middle School classmate Alfie Barrie, 11, were last seen together in the Anas Fish Market at E. 145th St. and Lenox Ave. in Harlem on Friday, cops said.
