Queensland Premier Annastacia Palaszczuk says now is the time for families divided by border closures to reunite, although the government can not guarantee how long the border will stay open.
Queensland will remove all interstate border restrictions with NSW on Monday after late-night discussions between the chief health officers in both states.

It is the third time since the start of the coronavirus pandemic that Sydney has had its hotspot status revoked. Sydneysiders have remained locked out of Queensland for much of the past 12 months.
