You had a sloppy fiveyear note auction for the treasuries today. That has served to push some yields higher today, so theres been a selloff in bonds on the long end of the yield curve and so many other things going on. You want to talk about some of the data weve gotten. That First Quarter gdp number doesnt look that strong and earnings. We have a lot to get to. Weve on a watch for a new high on the nasdaq. Not happening today. That index is down significantly. Its the russell thats up there right now and not the nasdaq, our old friend on the board over there. Interesting change. Youre right. They did move that. Look at that, down 22 points. Thats for us to worry about, not you folks. Another of the culprits moving stocks lower today, biotech looking very sickly. Look at that, 4 decline for biogen which just the other day was zooming on the alzheimers drug story and others are following suit as well today. Thats another sector were going to look at thats causing some of this selloff. L
Some wondering whether the streak is over. Igt now the dow is down a fraction. Two weeks in a row that were down. The nasdaq would break its sixweek winning streak. The s p positive, but not by much. The market has stalled here, like it or not. We get to that 1525 range in the s p, and we have a lot of resistance. We cant break through it. Still like the market overall.
