i totally agree, but i also don t think people are going to be marching in the streets with signs saying how she s going to pay for it. i don t think that s going to be the most compelling issue. there s old math and new math. the old math is who can beat donald trump. oh, and it s got to be biden, name recognition. the other is, there s something going on in the liberal end of the democratic party captured by warren and sanders. she s showing that on the debate stage and it s causing friction. but i think that ideological divide within the party is problematic for them at a time when they re otherwise united against donald trump. there s something going on in the medicare for all discussion there, the way pete buttigieg and klobuchar were using it than just medicare for all. they were saying she wasn t being straight. they were saying she wasn t being honest. so they are raising other issues about elizabeth warren and trying to throw in doubt there. and i think both klobuchar and
this president, i agree with bernie, senator sanders, the most corrupt president in modern history and all our history. i don t think the impeachment process will take long. of former prosecutor i know a confession when i see it. we have to impeach this president. the trump campaign responded with a familiar tune issuing this statement saying once again donald trump was hands-down winner of this debate. i believe you with two other take aways. one was it was a huge night for mayor pete buttigieg, firing on all cylinders, he could engage with warren as you saw and made o rourke when it came to the issue of guns and if you wondered if that heart attack was sitting him back it didn t at all. he was very energetic last night. heather: rosario dawson was there showing her support. we appreciate it.
let s bring in the former director of social justice for the bernie sanders campaign. his first debate after his heart attack, he looked healthy and sounded good. what did you think? everyone agrees it takes a lot for someone to come back from a heart attack and show up at a debate with the same energy he always had. i saw him a little more reserved which i think is good. in order to look at his health, he is taking care of himself and his family but he made a comeback tonight. heather: let s get to your top three winners from last night, buttigieg, warren and sanders. mayor pete did a good job. i don t know if it will make a difference in the polls. he gets on the microphone, for some reason he can t break in the polls, can t seem to get the numbers he needs to compete but
because they really do view themselves as essentially comrades in arms in this. i really do think they view their vision as a genuine vision that they both share, that they feel they are making an internal party argument for. the question is there space? and this is a big question for the race right now, right? is there space for someone who isn t joe biden to be in there, right? is there a thirst or a demand or enough folks there. we saw that debate where warren and sanders went to town on the john delaneys and the steve bullocks. now you ve got folks like pete buttigieg and i agree, amy klobuchar had a good night. she did very well. she is a united states senator. is that resonating with voters or is the biden phenomenon about joe biden fundamentally, right? that people like joe biden. they trust joe biden. they ve known him for a long time. that to me underlies all of the exchanges we saw tonight, both the attacks that came of warren, the facts that sanders didn t and the fact that
