make 60 degrees in aberdeen. across central and eastern england, if you mist those showers, temperatures could reach 16 or 17 degrees. but we have an area of low pressure bringing wet and windy weather after dark overnight and into friday. strongest winds across northern parts of france, but through the channel and along the south coast of england and south wales, winds up to 50 or 60 mph overnight and into the early part of friday morning before they ease. wet weather overnight, that becomes more patchy and showery. further north, some sunshine perhaps. but also a few showers. still very unsettled. temperatures are going to be lower, typically 11 to 30 degrees by friday. heading into the weekend, those temperatures continue to just drop away a little bit, but it should be turning much drier. thanks, darren. from the six team, it s goodbye. hello and welcome to sportsday. i m laura mcghie. coming up on wednesday s programme. both scotland and wales top their european champion
we start in germany. king charles has arrived on his first state visit since he succeeded his mother as the british monarch. let s show you the latest pictures but a warning these contain flashing images. a short time ago king charles and queen consort camilla arrived at bellevue palace in berlin for a state banquet. hosted by the german president. this is now a three day trip. and it began here in berlin. but this was all supposed to begin in france at the weekend. that leg though was cancelled because of those protests in france over pension reforms. well in berlin, the king received this ceremonial welcome at the brandenberg gate. that s significant it s the first time the brandenberg gate has been used to welcome a head of state. the king and queen consort then moved on the german president s residence, bellevue palace. they signed the guest book and this evening are attending a state banquet in their honour. let s hear from the german president. translation: this v
