10 ZIP codes with most new coronavirus cases in Oregon

Coronavirus cases declined in Oregon last week as the state seemingly settled into a new normal: 4,000-something weekly confirmed or presumed infections.
Oregon has now seen three consecutive weeks below 4,800 cases, a feat that hasn’t happened since October. And it appears very likely Oregon will add a fourth week to the streak.
ZIP codes outside the Portland area saw the most coronavirus cases last week – with one major exception. The Portland ZIP code home to the Inverness Jail, where a large outbreak is infecting adults in custody, led the state in cases for a second week in a row.

LAKEVIEW, Ore. Governor Kate Brown s plan to close three Oregon state prisons would be a grave mistake, according to state lawmaker E. Werner Reschke, who represents much of Klamath and Lake counties.
Governor Brown s most recent budget proposal includes the closure of Warner Creek Correctional Facility in Lakeview, Shutter Creek in North Bend, and Mill Creek in Salem reviving and expanding on a proposal that originated in July of last year.
Oregon prisons report 41 deaths, 3,333 COVID-19 cases to date Salem Statesman Journal UP NEXT
The Oregon Department of Corrections has so far reported 41 deaths and 3,333 positive cases of COVID-19 among incarcerated individuals.
It has had 794 confirmed cases of COVID-19 among staff.
Here is a breakdown by location as of Jan. 27 of total positive cases:
Coffee Creek Correctional Facility: 219 inmates; 39 staff.
Coffee Creek Intake Center: 70 inmates; 12 staff.
Columbia River Correctional Institution: 245 inmates; 24 staff.
Deer Ridge Correctional Institution: 273 inmates; 43 staff.
Eastern Oregon Correctional Institution: 458 inmates; 74 staff.
Mill Creek Correctional Facility: 35 inmates; 15 staff.
Oregon State Correctional Institution: 244 inmates; 36 staff.
Oregon State Penitentiary: 385 inmates; 122 staff.
