janice: happy friday. we made it. storms moving across the eastern sea board and potential for storms in the georgia area, severe thunderstorm warning, we had several storms yesterday for mississippi and some wind gust damage as well as large hail. we ll watch this line of storms move offshore over the next 12 to 24 hours. we could see potential for snow in northern new england, parts of the great lakes. saturday this is out of here, but temperatures rebound next week. eastern warmth returns, 59 in boston. 83 in jacksonville, south florida will feel warm, frain boston and bump up temperatures next week. incredible for february. here are potential record highs
the bulk of england, maybe even south east scotland predominantly cloudy away from the southwest, and that cloud could be thick enough for some light rain or drizzle. temperatures down again on what we saw through wednesday, but still above average for this stage injuly across the south. closer to the average the further north we go and pleasant enough when the sun is out. as we go into the evening, the cloud will be in place, but through the night, we start to see a few more showers developed around it and drift away northwards. on friday, some of those showers could be that bit heavier, greater chance of getting wet for some, even the odd rumble of thunder, flash of lightning. more rain at times to the north and west of the country this weekend. further south and east, dry, but a bit of warmth returns again.
and if anything, we could see them making a little bit of a resurgence northwards across southern england, as far north as the midlands, parts of east anglia through sunday evening, looking into the week ahead, there s always low pressure, pretty close to the south of the uk. low pressures try and run in further north between the two, a ridge of high pressure. so for the majority of the uk, i think through the week ahead there will be a lot of fine weather, but the closer to the south coast you are, the greater your chance will be of picking up some showers. and to the far north west of the uk, i think it will be somewhat breezier with some showery outbreaks of rain at times. some warmth returns through the week, but not the heat of recent days.
