Bail Raised Dramatically For Ex-Cop In Bucks Sex Abuse Case

Subscribe On Tuesday, Bucks County Detective Greg Beidler testified that investigators received several new leads in the case after an April 7 news conference about it. He said detectives are investigating claims from potential new victims of Carey now. In a news release, the DA s office said it strongly believes there are even more victims in the case. Carey worked for Warminster Township from May 1989 until he retired from the police force in May of 2009. Prosecutors say he abused all four boys while he was an officer.

Bail increased for former D A R E officer accused of assaulting children

DOYLESTOWN — A former North Wales and Warminster police officer accused of sexually abusing children while working as a D.A.R.E. officer has had his bail increased. The Bucks County District Attorney s office said Wednesday that bail has been increased for James Carey, 52, on charges filed earlier this month.  According to the Bucks DA s office, Bucks County President Judge Wallace H. Bateman Jr. increased the bail for Carey to $250,000 cash bail, up from a level of ten percent of $100,000 bail set when he was arraigned on April 7; Bateman called that level woefully inadequate, according to the DA s office. - Advertisement -
