Senora Begum, a Rohingya refugee from Myanmar who is currently at the Dayabasti Rain Basera detention centre, sought to be released pointing out that detention beyond a period of six months was contrary to the law.
The Delhi High Court Tuesday directed the Central government and Foreign Regional Registration Office (FRRO) to provide immediate medical help to a Rohingya refugee Senora Begum, lodged in one of the detention centres.
The court has overruled previous verdicts that offered some protection and held that mere membership of an unlawful organisation will also be punishable.
