Checkpoints will be set up tonight to get impaired drivers off the roads. 3 troopers remind everyone that your blood alcohol level should not be above pointoh eight. If you are above the legal limit, it could mean big consequences. Troopers say making prior arrangments, like having a designated driver or calling a cab, is the key to avoiding penalties.

I26 is moving slowly with traffic heading out of asheville area this afternoon on to this evening. Earlier today we saw some heavy rain and there was a major mudslide on the road near here on polk county. White oak Mountain Road was definitely closed. We could not immediately see from the point what the damage was. About a half mile up we could, though. With boulders sliding off the mountain. A dot crew came out and documented it. And then assessed the damage. Trees out of the road. Making sure basically that roads are open if theyre safe to open. I have been cataloging pictures in case we get reimbursement.
