Onset Firefighters quickly knock down Liquor Locker fire, though inventory takes a hit

WAREHAM – Onset Firefighters were able to bring a fire at Liquor Locker, 3021 Cranberry Highway, under control within 45 minutes early Friday morning, April 2, though there was a significant loss of stock.
Firefighters said that at approximately 11:51 p.m. Thursday, April 1, the Onset Fire Dept. received notification from Wareham Police that they had received a security alarm for 3021 Cranberry Highway, The Liquor Locker, and that officers arrived to find what appeared to be a smoke condition inside the business. The store was closed at the time of the incident. A first alarm assignment was dispatched summoning all department personnel, including Deputy Fire Chief Howard L. Andersen and acting Chief Jeffrey R. Osswald.
