Year 7 students at Wardle Academy recently experienced a virtual tour of Neeli Mosque in Rochdale.
Imam Mirazam Khan led a question and answer session which helped students understand the importance of the mosque as a central point of worship and how the sense of community links to the values of the school s Wardle Way .
Students in Year 7 have been studying the importance of religious buildings to different faith communities and took the opportunity to raise the central questions generated through their studies.
Imam Mirazam offered insightful answers, helped illustrate the importance of charity within the Islamic community and discussed the challenges presented for collective worship in the wake of a pandemic.
