Police seize software of problematic cooperative linked with Home Minister Lamichhane

KATHMANDU, April 13: The police have initiated an investigation into alleged irregularities of Sahara Chitwan Multi-Purpose Cooperative, which is also linked with Home Minister Rabi Lamichhane. Following complaints from the depositors of the cooperative, the police, with assistance of the Central Investigation Bureau (CIB) of Nepal Police, took control of the software of the company and started an investigation on Friday.

Nepal, first country in South Asia to recognise a lesbian couple

"Love prevails in Nepal, Anju Devi Shrestha, aka Dipti Shrestha, 33, and Suprita Gurung, 33, both born female and identifying as women, have recently made history as the first lesbian couple in South Asia from Nepal to officially register their marriage in Baddiyatal, Ward No. 2, Jamuni Village (bordering India)," said Sunil Babu Pant.
