On Jan. 16, Mahipal Singh received the vaccine and on Jan. 17, he complained of chest pain and breathlessness during the day and by the time he was taken to the hospital for treatment he was declared dead, according to CMO.
A 52-year-old ward boy of a district hospital in Moradabad, Uttar Pradesh, died on Sunday a day after receiving COVID-19 vaccine.
On Monday, officials said he died of a cardiopulmonary disease.
Mahipal Singh was given the first dose of Covishield at 1 p.m. on January 16, Chief Medical Officer (CMO), Moradabad, M.C Garg, said.
On Sunday, he complained of chest pain and breathlessness and when he was taken to the hospital, he was declared brought dead, the CMO stated.
