these poll numbers. i think what s happened we re stuck in this mentality we have a military solution to every confli conflict. remember back in 2004, john kerry and george bush debated over whether you can reduce terrorism to a law enforcement problem and john kerry was ridiculed for saying it. but i talk to a lot of people who say listen, you have to get comfortable with the notion that terrorism is going to exist. you can t root it out. you just have to figure out how best to deal with it and perhaps sending military forces overseas to occupy countries and build states is not the best way to deal with it. joe? yeah. you know, norah, the question i would love, you were talking about town hall meetings before, i would love this question to be asked of every congressman and senator this august during the recess. afghanistan, why are we there? why are we there? the only answer they have is to build up karzai s government. that s not going to sell in middle america. true. that
