William H. Kohler, 75, of Mansfield, passed away Sunday evening, December 20, 2020, at OhioHealth Mansfield Hospital. He was born November 6, 1945, in Louisville, Kentucky, and moved to Ohio at an early age. Bill grew up in the Tiffin, Ohio, area and joined the U.S. Air Force. Serving in many countries over the years, he retired after 39 years of service. He was the Command Chief Master Sergeant at the 179th Airlift Wing and was revered by many as a honorable commander and man of the utmost integrity. He was a true leader in every sense of the word. Bill was never one to let the grass grow under his feet and, after his retirement, he began a 15 year career at Wappner Funeral Directors where he was a valued member of our team.
