Garbage truck driver hits, kills pedestrian on LI: police © Provided by WINS Radio New York
NEW YORK (1010 WINS) A garbage truck driver struck and killed a pedestrian on Long Island Thursday morning, police said.
The driver hit the female pedestrian on Wantagh Avenue, at Laurel Lane, in Wantagh around 9:40 a.m. on Thursday, Nassau County police said.
The pedestrian was pronounced dead at the scene, the department said. Her name and age weren’t immediately released.
The driver hadn’t been charged in connection with the woman’s death as of Thursday afternoon, police said. An investigation is ongoing.
