Miesha Louie had a strategy when it came to recording the material that would eventually become Miesha and the Spanks’ new EP, Singles.
For the seven-song release, which dropped earlier this week, Louie and drummer Sean Hamilton enlisted Leeroy Stagger as a producer. As well as being an acclaimed singer-songwriter himself, Stagger has earned a reputation for expertly sculpting roots and Americana sounds in his Lethbridge studio, producing albums that often seemed similar in style to his own.
