Hundreds of Manipur Police commandos lay down arms in protest against the abduction and assault on an additional SP in Imphal. Demanding action against the miscreants, the commandos of Imphal West, Thoubal, Kakching, and Bishnupur districts carry out the protest.
On Tuesday at around 6.45 pm, armed miscreants overpowered commando personnel along Wangkhei Road in Imphal West and assaulted commando personnel, including additional superintendent of police (Ops) Moirangthem Amit, who is the OC of Commando Unit, Imphal West.
The Manipur Police Department condemned the attack on Additional SP Amit Moirangthem s residence and personnel, stating it seriously takes any assault and will take stringent action. The incident involved armed miscreants from the Arambai Tenggol group, which has been engaged in anti-social activities like vehicle theft and extortion.
