An English-language global communication platform for Jining, East China s Shandong province, was launched on Dec 31.
Consisting of the Jining English-language website and the Jining of China page on overseas social network sites, the platform aims to increase the historic city s international profile, as well as promote its image and global influence.
Dong Bo, head of the publicity department of the CPC Jining municipal committee, said he hoped that the platform will serve as an effective channel for promoting Jining, the hometown of Confucius and Mencius, and be a friendly bridge to connect the city with the rest of the world.
