A mother's loss: Wang Yunjuan, a 64-year-old woman from Hangzhou, Zhejiang province, has captured the hearts of many in China after appearing on the local television program "Xiao Qiang Re Xian" ("Xiaoqiang's Hotline") on June 30 to share her story. According to Wang, she was pregnant and alone at 21 years old in 1981 when her husband was sentenced to life imprisonment for a violent altercation. The husband met their daughter, Jiang Ling, only once in prison shortly after Wang gave birth to her on May 12, 1982.
