Archaeologists studying a section of the Great Wall of China think that newly discovered gaps in an enigmatic stretch of the structure may have resulted from fears over the rise to power of Ghengis Khan.
On November 11, the World Conference on Chinese Studies (WCS) Shanghai Forum opened in Shanghai, China. More than 24 experts and scholars from all over the world gathered in Huangpu Riverside to discuss Chinese civilization and China's path from a global perspective. Chinese President Xi Jinping sent a congratulatory letter, hoping that experts, scholars would be ambassadors of Chinese and foreign civilizations. Analysts pointed out that under the changes in a century, it is of far-reaching significance to mark the paradigm of world Chinese studies.
