Huawei has been working on its HarmonyOS which we know as HongmengOS in China for some time. This system is very similar to Android for obvious reasons but it is quite different from Android. The success of HarmonyOS will rely on Huawei’s cooperation with other brands. One Chinese brand that has a strong connection with HarmonyOS is Midea Group. An investor recently asked Midea’s executives if the company will support HarmonyOS in the future. Midea Group responded that Midea and HarmonyOS are already in active cooperation. As of the end of December 2020, Midea has provided users with more value-added services and cross-scenario experiences through ecological cooperation. According to the company, its HarmonyOS compatible devices are in 7 different categories. Midea also revealed that it currently has 12 products with Huawei’s HarmonyOS.

Major Chinese smartphone makers have been silent so far on whether they will adopt Huawei's self-developed operating system (OS), known as HarmonyOS 2.0, which the company launched on Wednesday with much fanfare, though some industry leaders gave a thumbs-up for the domestic OS, Global Times reported.
