MIRAMAR BEACH After lengthy and sometimes contentious discussion, a proposed rezoning of 16.1 acres off Hidden Lakes Drive behind the Golf Garden near U.S. Highway 98 to allow development of a residential subdivision was tabled at the Dec. 8 meeting of the Walton County Board of Commissioners.
The unanimous commission decision sends S&L Karian Properties, a Destin development firm, back through the county s process of hearings in front of a Technical Review Committee and the county Planning Commission before returning to the County Commission for a final determination.
The proposal had been approved by the Technical Review Committee and the Planning Commission before coming to the County Commission on Dec. 8.
