North-east dance fans are being invited to see the world premiere of two new films from Scottish Ballet to mark International Dance Day. The national company’s choreographer-in-residence Sophie Laplane’s short piece, Dive, will be screened online on the day itself, Thursday April 29, at 1pm Next, Scottish Ballet soloist Nicholas Shoesmith will see his new work, Odyssey, premiere on Tuesday May 4 at 1pm. Scottish Ballet are using film as a medium for dance during lockdown.
