she is also the person that trump allegedly showed a classified map of a military site at his new jersey golf club in the fall of 2021. that s according to jack smith s indictment. in the meantime, we have also learned that the special counsel s team has secured the cooperation of the former trump 2020 campaign official , in the other ongoing probe related to trump and his allies efforts to overturn the 2020 election. maggie haberman is a senior political correspondent for the new york times, and she joins me now. maggie, there is a lot to go through. there s been like five developments every single day, it feels like. but, what does it say to you, as you were the first one to report this earlier today, that the miami grand jury is still investigating. what does that signify to you? it s interesting, kaitlan. it could be a couple of things. as we understand, there have been a bunch of subpoenas that have gone out. and that indicates that it is still very active. it could be that t
but the fact that trump is still with susie wiles, nearly on a daily basis, just adds another layer to the potential witnesses there are around him on a daily basis. yeah, that s right kaitlan. and we ve seen this in a number of instances. other people who are key witnesses, and you guys have reported extensively on this in terms of that audio of the other instance, the indictment focuses on, which is this recording of trump talking to a bunch of people in a room where he waives papers, that the indictment says was something he called a plan of attack, that was a classified document that he had from his white house days. one of the people in that meeting was margot martin, who travels with him frequently. other people who are connected to his world in various ways, are also part of this indictment, walt nada himself, is codefendant, it is on the plane repeatedly. it does speak to the unprecedented nature the level of his prevalence on the political scene, and his dominance of this
national defense information. it s, allegedly, a memorandum of options to attack another nation. and then he commits the offense of, sharing it, either by description, or actually by showing a bunch of people in the room, who don t have access, and don t have lawful access to that material. so, it s just a vivid, and unmistakable impression, that they will go away with, that they ve actually kind of heard, at least in one instance, the former president doing exactly what s been alleged. kaitlan, as you know, walt nada, who is the former presidents, i guess closest spotty person. he was supposed to be in court today, what happened. he didn t go to court, because he never made it there. because, there s obviously been a lot of flight cancellations. he, reportedly sat on the tarmac for several hours yesterday, never ultimately made it down to the miami to get arraigned. remember, two weeks ago when trump was arrested and arraigned in miami, walt was supposed to be there as. well he is
be able to play that audio tape and then we know that they have called witnesses, at least one of the people that was in the room witnessed this, to the grand jury and very likely would call those people into the trial itself to testify what they remember exactly seeing trump holding up during this episode. on top of all of this, someone who is alleged in the indictment to have moved a bunch of boxes is walt nada, trump s right hand and aide, arraigned today on charges he helped hide classified documents that the doj wanted back. what s going to happen today in court with this? reporter: well, we re expecting that to be a pretty short hearing today with walt nada, donald trump s valet, his body man, a man who still works and travelled with him as a political aide. waltt to coback into the federal courthouse behind me in downtown miami this morning to formally enter his pleading of not guilty. he didn t do it two weeks ago when we were here before for trump s arraignment, but he s c
