A FITNESS instructor aims to use her first indoor class at Wallyford following the easing of Covid-19 restrictions to help children living in poverty. Shirley Johnstone, who was brought up in the village, is donating funds from the session to Forth 1’s ‘Cash for Kids’ 5k a Day challenge. The charity initiative seeks to improve the lives of disadvantaged youngsters across the Lothians, Fife and Falkirk who are affected by poverty, illness, neglect or have additional needs. Shirley, a former pupil of Wallyford Primary and Musselburgh Grammar Schools who moved to Prestonpans 37 years ago after she got married, has returned to her home village to lead dance routines on mini trampolines at Wallyford Miners Club.
