Pistol, an FX limited series that follows the life of Sex Pistols guitarist
Steve Jones.
FX announced that it has ordered Boyle’s
Pistol, a six-episode limited series about the Sex Pistols’ Steve Jones based on Jones’ 2018 memoir
Lonely Boy: Tales from a Sex Pistol. Boyle will direct and executive produce the series, which was created by Craig Pearce and written by Pearce and Frank Cottrell Boyce.

FX has ordered Pistol, a six-episode limited series about the legendary Sex Pistols guitarist Steve Jones, it was announced today by Nick Grad, President, Original Programming, FX Entertainment.
Based on Jones’ 2018 memoir Lonely Boy: Tales from a Sex Pistol, the series from Academy Award®-winner Danny Boyle, who will also serve as Executive Producer and director, was created by Craig Pearce and written by Pearce and Frank Cottrell Boyce.
Jones, Boyle and Pearce serve as Executive Producers alongside Gail Lyon, Anita Camarata, Tracey Seaward, Paul Lee, Hope Hartman and wiip. The series is produced by FX Productions and is set to begin production on March 7.

FX is moving forward with a limited series all about the influential punk rock band the Sex Pistols.
The band formed in the early 1970s and would go on to revolutionize the rock music scene going into the 1980s with their politically charged lyrics and often violent live performances. Although their run as a band was short-lived, they quickly cemented themselves in music history.
According to Deadline, the band will be the subject of a six-part limited series titled Pistol based on the memoir by Steve Jones titled Lonely Boy: Tales from a Sex Pistol. The series will be helmed by Slumdog Millionaire and Yesterday director Danny Boyle and was created by Moulin Rouge! writer Craig Pearce, co-written by 24 Hour Party People Frank Cottrell Boyce.
