n.a.t.o. troops or afghan troops in there to get immediate control of everything. this is really about hearts and minds. it s about working from the outside in toward the center of the city and it s about governance. one of the principal problems they have over there is wally karzai, president karzai s brother, is not a friend of the u.s. military. they don t trust him. they think he s crooked and that he s in league with the taliban and drug smugglers. the regional governor is someone that we do like, but he s kind of a weak and ineffective leader, but we re trying to bolster him. so this is a ground-up replacing of corrupt regime with a more solid regime and trying to go along with what the population wants. this is not coming out of the muzzle of a barrel, although general petraeus is right when he says it s going to get tough. the temperatures are 100 degrees, it s going to be nasty and a lot of hard fighting. jamie: captain, i have to leave it there, it gets tougher before it ge
