enforcement sources tell cnn that the nypd secret service and the investigators with the manhattan district attorney s office or having a meeting today to figure out the logistics of this historic moment with the heightened security concerns, are we. our colleague was just on the floor where the judge s chambers are and where the courtroom would be, and it s sealed off now to the public. they re trying to work through. go through a walkthrough in a sense and figure out how they will handle this. how will the motorcade transport the former president down to the court? house. what entrance will he enter into? and he has to go through the normal process of being fingerprinted of having his mug shot taken and then escorted into the courtroom. so all law enforcement on hands trying to figure out the best in the safest way to have this happen because, of course, as you remember, the former president has called for protests. we have not seen very many people out here protesting. it s mostly m
that i have spoken to say that they are pleased with the republican response because, as we have talked about trump is not only a former us president, but he is currently running for president right now, and they believe that this could help him in a contested primary, although it s still of course, remains to be seen whether or not an indictment like this could help him politically. now here at mar-a-lago or outside of mar-a-lago, west palm. we just drove by the resort. it is relatively calm. we had heard rumors of protests were talking about all of this increased security. there was only about 10 to 15 people outside peacefully protesting in support of the former president, something that we obviously are keeping an eye on. one thing i do want to quickly note is when we talk about what s going to happen tuesday. a lot of that is going to depend on what happens at that secret service walkthrough at that meeting, because that s going to dictate how the team responds and what they are a
that s how they add up, and that s how you can sometimes find dozens and thousands of charges in a case we don t know how strong they are now. certainly there s been reporting and michael cohen commented. as to some of the questions he may or may not have answered, but until we see what s actually included in the indictment, i think it s really impossible to weigh in on the strength of the case. and john miller. how is this going to play out on tuesday when donald trump is arraigned in new york city? he s going to be brought from trump tower to the courthouse. the time has been set for his arrival today. they did a meeting about coordinating how they would get through traffic which entrance they would use. but also they did a walkthrough basically dry run where they said, you know, he will be booked here in this office will then take this elevator to this floor across over to this private hallway. come out here into the public hallway and walk into the courtroom, so they have they ve r
courthouse has to come into the district attorney s office and be booked. um and then he has to be brought for a courtroom after his fingerprints and mug shots are taken for an arraignment. and there s a couple of ways to do that in that massive building that you see on the screen next to me. there are public hallways . there are back hallways that prisoners are moved through. so the purpose of the walkthrough today is to let the court officers who actually control that building and security in that building. work with secret service and nypd to say we ll bring him in this way he ll go here, then we ll transport him either this back way or through the normal channels channels to this courtroom and then this is how we will get him out of the building. so the walkthrough today is to make sure that everybody s on the same page court officers, nypd and the secret service detail that protects donald trump. still um , that it s up to everybody s standards about how they want this done and ho
