Police charge three after search warrant at Walgett
Two men and a woman have been charged after police executed a search warrant at a house in Walgett yesterday.
About 7.30am (Tuesday 11 May 2021), officers from the Walgett Proactive Crime Team executed a search warrant at a house in Pitt Street.
A 38-year-old man, wanted on a warrant in relation to a robbery in company, was arrested as he attempted to flee the house.
Police allegedly located and seized cannabis and methylamphetamine, mobile phones, a NSW Police issue torch, and a Honda motorcycle.
While police were conducting the search a 20-year-old man and a 29-year-old woman arrived at the house. They were both wanted on outstanding warrants and were arrested.
The 24-year-old was stabbed, kicked, then punched in the face.
Emergency services arrived at the scene on Duff Street shortly after 7.30pm.
The man was treated for stab wounds to the head and shoulder before being taken to the Walgett Multipurpose Centre.
He was then airlifted to Dubbo Base Hospital and has since been transferred to Royal Prince Alfred Hospital, Camperdown.
Police are investigating the crime scene and are appealing anyone with information to contact Walgett Police.
