New South Wales Shadow Health Minister Ryan Park says the premier s decision not to cancel the New Year’s Eve fireworks was “fairly reasonable” because this year particularly, residents “need a little bit of joy”.
“What the premier has announced is fairly reasonable,” he said.
“The message - certainly that I’ve got and I’ve been telling our community - is have your New Year’s Eve celebrations essentially at home and have it very small numbers.
“We don’t have a vaccine at the moment, people are not vaccinated and therefore there’s no immunity.
