1/1 THE organiser behind a scheme to help homeless people and struggling families at Christmas has expressed her gratitude following an unbelievable community response. Earlier in December the Leader reported how the community group Wrexham Homeless launched its annual shoebox appeal. Last year the group received and made up 300 boxes containing all kinds of essentials, toiletries and food thanks to the generosity of the public. This year businesses and residents have helped the group to create even more. Dee Davis, founder of Wrexham Homeless, said: We ve had about 400 boxes and they have gone out to ten services across Wrexham to go to homeless and vulnerable people. We ve also given them to the police to go to elderly and isolated people in the community.
