one of two attacks that caught the world s attention over the past couple of days. steve hays, senior write for the weekly standard. mara lars and syndicated columnist charles krauthammer. in some ways what we have seen over the past couple of days is one of two ways of committing terrorist attacks, yesterday the lone wolf attacks that we had predicted would be coming would be the new face of terrorism now for several years and then today we saw a mass casualty attack, conducted by a strong terrorist group despite the fact that it s had leadership problems, management issues, internet team fighting was able to carry off in kind of a has casualty attacks. how many times do we sit here and say these kinds of attacks are wakeup calls, but they are wairkup calls. that was the case until you had
is in danger of being cut by congress. so how many wakeup calls do we kbet when it comes to climate change? the u.s. and china are the biggest polluters. is there an appetite to do something about that? what has to be done to awaken. we want to talk about that with our pachbl. we have bill ney along with coral davenport. and the director of strategy at energy initiative at george mason university. and sam stein, a white house correspondent and political editor with the huffington post. coral, i will start with you. you re covering this this week. if you could give us the bottom line of what this report is saying. people have heard so many reports with warnings and dates and targets. what s the bottom line that this report is trying to tell us? this report was about policy.

quote, america s founding fathers fought a rebellion for individual liberty. today s supreme court decision is a heavy boot on the throatçf that liberty. and senator rand paul suggested americans should revolt and said obama care should act as a wakeup call. wakeup calls, rebellions, revolutions. they have to be very careful with their wording. let s remember the tea party movement built to a fury in 2009 and 2010. outraged over the new health care law. we all remember the scenes. and the violence always seemed to bubble just beneath the surface. at one point after the law passed, ten reported receiving threats or acts of violence against them. joining me now is a congressman who saw that violence of the tea party first hand. former congressman thomas
i see myself in them, now what i mean? i could easily be sitting right where you re sitting, just by the grace of god that i m not. what is the message you re trying to drive home to american dads? my real reason for wanting to write this book in the first place, to inspire young people who grew up in a situation where they didn t have a father in their home. we always heard telling us how, you come from a broken home, you re not going to make it. now what? life isn t over. you still have to be able to make it. so you recognize, even though it s not the most favorable situation, it s a situation you have and you make the most of it. to help deliver wakeup calls to men, thomas enlisted the help of highly revered professional athletes, coaches, actors, politicians and leaders of faith to share their insights on being a dad. men like kareem abdul jabbar, yao ming, actor thai digs. tony hawk and more, ice cube.
