Wake County Public Health will host a health fair this Saturday, Aug. 26, that will offer free mpox vaccines and HIV and sexually-transmitted infection testing on site.
Beginning July 1, 2023, COVID-19 vaccines will no longer be offered for free at doctors’ offices, pharmacies or Wake County’s clinics. The shots will be treated like any other vaccine. Those with insurance will face copays and deductibles.
Officials with Wake County Public Health say two women in the county have tested positive for the monkeypox virus. These are the first cases confirmed in women in North Carolina.
