各都道府県の審査を通った約３００点の作品が展示されている。県内からの出品は紀央館（御坊市）と星林（和歌山市）から４点。
小アリーナでは県内企画展も開催している。生徒の優秀作品を並べているほか、和歌山にちなんだ万葉歌を書いた作品や、県内の書道部員が大会に込めた思いを葉っぱに見立てたメッセージカードに書き込んで作った「結実の木プロジェクト」の展示が来場客を楽しませている。５日からは、名産品のモモやミカンをかたどった用紙に、来県する代表生徒たちが願いを書いた「実」を付ける。
会場ボランティアとして参加している熊野高２年の小山林檎さんは「自分では書けない作品が並んでいてすごいと思った。願いは『みんなで楽しい思い出をつくれますように』と書いた」と笑顔を見せた。
