Marie Ellyn Hamilton Marrier, age 75, of Merrill, passed away unexpectedly on Sunday, May 9, 2021 at the Aspirus Wausau Hospital, from cardiac issues. Marie was born on October 2, 1945 at Marinette General Hospital in Marinette, WI to Louis Arnold Hamilton and Velma Glen Ellen Rude Hamilton, both originally of Rhinelander, WI. She had one brother, Jack Allan Hamilton, who was 4 years her senior. Marie grew up in the Town of Scott west of Merrill, having moved to this area at age 8 weeks. She attended a one room schoolhouse for her entire 8 grades of elementary school, a fact over which she expressed both pride and lament. Marie was a 1963 graduate of Merrill Senior High School, 1966 graduate of Columbia Hospital School of Nursing, Milwaukee, WI, and of the first Family Nurse Practitioner class at the University of Wisconsin Department

Dennis Lloyd Smith was a husband, father, grand-father, great grandfather, brother and friend. He was taken to his heavenly home on January 20, 2021 at the age of 75 at the VA Hospital in Milwaukee. Dennis was born to the late Hattie Parobek on September 28, 1945 in Merrill, Wisconsin. After graduating High School in 1963, Dennis joined the Army, serving our country in the Vietnam War for 3 years. He married the love of his life, Dawn E. Peeters in 1967 and together they had two children, Debbie and Deanna. Dennis worked at Ward Paper Mill and owned East Side Key Service until his retirement in 1978 due to a disability, Multiple Sclerosis. Dennis loved joking around and socializing. He especially enjoyed his grandchildren, Dylan, Devon, Hannah and Aaron, attending their sporting events and cheering everyone on. In his more active years, he

Roger was raised up by the angels to his heavenly home on Wednesday, January 20, 2021, at the age of 69. Roger was born in Merrill on November 3, 1951 to the late Ben and Gerda (Grunenwald) Schmidt. Rog grew up on the Sunshine Valley Farm in the town of Pine River, where he enjoyed cutting grass for the heifers, neighborhood birthday parties, and playing with his four-legged pal, his dog “Duke”. Roger started work at NCHC Lincoln Industries on November 1, 1975. He held a variety of jobs, such as lawn mowing, janitorial work, packaging and sealing. He was very meticulous at everything he did, even getting down on his hands and knees with a pair of scissors to trim the grass that the mower didn’t get. Rog enjoyed riding his bicycle. He could be seen pedaling around Merrill and even riding as far as Medford, Stevens Point, and to visit
