Roush was murdered at his Pomeroy, Ohio home Sunday. POMEROY, Oh. A former standout high school football player in West Virginia is identified as the victim of a murder in Meigs County, Ohio. Wahama, running back Kane Roush, was an All-State First Team selection in Class A while playing running back. He led the White Falcons to a state title in 2012 The Meigs County Sheriff’s Department identified the victim as Kane Roush, 25, of Pomeroy, Ohio. Authorities say Roush was shot multiple times in the early morning hours Sunday. According to investigators he managed to crawl to another nearby apartment building from his home to get somebody to call for help. Deputies arrived to find him on the ground and still alive. He was able to communicate with Meigs County deputies when they arrived.

Two COVID related deaths reported in Mason County … Double digit case increases continue Staff Report OHIO VALLEY Two COVID-19 related deaths were reported in Mason County on Mondayas double digit case increases were reported over the weekend in Gallia, Mason and Meigs Counties. The new deaths are both females, one in the 90s age range and one in the 60s age range, according to the Mason County Health Department. The Meigs County Health Department reported 32 additional confirmed cases of COVID-19 and one probable case of COVID-19 from Dec. 12-14, as well as 49 additional recovered cases and three new hospitalizations. In Gallia County, 64 new cases and 1 new hospitalization were reported over the weekend by the Ohio Department of Health and the Gallia County Health Department.

COVID-related death reported in Mason County … New hospitalizations reported in Gallia Staff Report OHIO VALLEY One additional COVID-19 related death was reported in Mason County on Tuesday, while Gallia County reported four new hospitalizations. The Mason County Health Department reported an additional death on Tuesday morning. This individual was a female in the 80-89 year age range. The Ohio Department of Health and the Gallia County Health Department reported four new hospitalizations, with one each in the 0-19, 20-29, 70-79 and 80-plus age ranges. Forty-nine new cases were reported in the county since Monday. Nine new cases were reported by the Meigs County Health Department in Tuesday’s update, bringing the active case total to 169.
