Emory employee Wade Moricle and his family are awaiting official certification from the Guinness World Records Company for their 625-pound sticker ball. The multiyear project helped them stick together through the pandemic, a cancer diagnosis and treatments.
The Moricle family of Avondale Estates has been working to break the Guinness world record for the world's largest sticker ball for four years. During a weighing ceremony at the Avondale Estates City Commission meeting on Sept. 28, the sticker ball weighed in at 624.6 pounds and is 8 feet and half an inch in circumference.
One Sunday in 2018, a fifth grader rolled up some heart stickers into a small ball to begin the goal of creating the world's largest sticker ball. To date, the ball weighs in at almost 600 pounds.
