Teachers feeling unsafe | Energeticcity ca - Local news from Northeast B C

Feb 10, 2021 3:26 PM FORT ST. JOHN, B.C. – Teachers in School District 60 say they’re tired, stressed, burning out, and are feeling unsafe. According to the President of the Peace River North Teacher’s Association Michele Wiebe, teachers in the area “are very stressed about being in classes”. With the update to the Health & Safety Guidelines for K-12 Settings, elementary teachers, especially primary teachers, have specific difficulties regarding wearing face masks for teaching oral language in the classroom, and French teachers are finding it difficult to teach pronunciation. “I am getting emails, text messages and phone calls from teachers all the time talking about how concerned they are about being in class, even with updated guidelines and more exposures,” says Wiebe.
