is intern dream dying on the vine in john fund is the columnist for the wall street journal, and he joins us now, so, what do you think, john? is ben bernanke talking about possibly throwing everything but the kitchen sink at the economy but he doesn t have much more that he can do. what is happening to the american dream? well, a few years ago, the fed made money way too easy, interest rates way too low, and that created a housing bubble. and the housing bubble eventually burst, leaving financial destruction in its wake and the fed s response was, we re not only going to bail out all of these financial institutions, we are going to prop up the economy and put enormous amounts of money into the system. now, that did stabilize things and came at a cost. we now have decided to prop up a lot of these housing issues, around the country, and, a lot of people did lose their homes, through foreclosure. but, we would have been much better off, i think if we had gone through the pain early,
