Several First Nations have launched a class-action lawsuit against the Attorney General of Canada for failing to address prolonged drinking water advisories on reserves across the country.
Neskantaga First Nation, Curve Lake First Nation and Tataskweyak Cree Nation have agreed to be represented by McCarthy Tétrault LLP and Olthuis Kleer Townshend LLP. Neskantaga is a remote Oji-Cree First Nation located on the shores of Attawapiskat Lake in the District of Kenora, with Curve Lake and Tataskweyak being in Southern Ontario and Northern Manitoba, respectively.
