Kimberly Clark says the racial environment of the Fox Valley had nothing to do with their decision to move 250-corporate jobs from Neenah to Chicago. Last week, both outgoing United Way Fox Cities President Peter Kelly and Diverse and Resilient Director Kathy Flores told members of the Appleton Common Council that K-C executives had spoken to them about the inability to attract and retain minority candidates to the area. In a statement to W-H-B-Y News, Kimberly Clark says:
Kimberly-Clark’s decision to move more than 250 positions in sales, marketing, executive management and other commercial functions to Chicago was a business decision to put our commercial teams in closer proximity to our customers, business partners and agencies. More than 2,500 jobs will remain in the state of Wisconsin, and the majority of those jobs will be at the Kimberly-Clark North American Innovation, Technology and Supply Center in Neenah.
